Ossian State Bank, and its parent holding company, Ossian Financial Services Inc., (the Affiliate) and employees are committed to protecting the privacy of your nonpublic personal information. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use and protect it. This notice serves as a standard for all Ossian State Bank employees for collection, use, retention, and security of nonpublic personal information.

What Information We Collect

"Nonpublic personal information" is information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service. Examples include application information, account balance information, payment history, and overdraft history.

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources

  • Information we receive from you, such as applications or other loan or account forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, the affiliate or others; and
  • Information from others, such as credit bureaus, real estate appraisers and employers

Our Security Procedures

We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to your personal and account information to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

What Information We Disclose

Ossian State Bank does not disclose any nonpublic personal information about you to any company that is not the affiliate, such as "nonaffiliated third parties", except as permitted by law. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to third parties to assist us in servicing your loan or account with us, to government entities in response to subpoenas, and to credit bureaus.

We may disclose the following information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, (example of this is our Right Direction checking product and its Benefits Package) which we have joint marketing arrangements:

  • Information we receive from you on applications, such as your name, address, and your place of employment.

These third parties must agree to strict confidentiality compliance to assure the protection of your information.

Because we limit the sharing of your nonpublic personal information as outlined above, no action on your part is necessary to limit such information sharing.

If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, the confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information will continue to be maintained consistent with the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.

Fair Credit Reporting Act Disclosure

(This only pertains to our customers who are also shareholders of Ossian Financial Services, Inc. the bank's affiliate.)  

We are permitted under law to share our experiences or transactions with you or your account with the affiliate (Ossian Financial Services Inc.). Your account balance and payment history are examples of transaction and experience information that we are always permitted to share with the affiliate. We also may share additional information about you or your account, such as information we receive from you in applications and information from credit reporting agencies. You may direct us not to disclose to the affiliate information that does not relate solely to the affiliate’s or our experiences or transactions with you or your account by calling us at 1-888-622-4141.
